OURS IS TO GO

I had a chance to hear someone speak on Mark 16: 1 – 4 recently and the question the women asked in verse 3 " Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" struck me with a new meaning as never before. I learnt a few lessons that day that I want to share with you. Before I share these lessons let us read this beautiful “Easter” story again. 1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, " Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away As I mediated on this scripture, I thought to myself these wonderful women knew before they got to their destination and maybe even before they left their houses that there will be a ...

WHY AM I AFRAID

I read an article in which someone described fear as F alse E vidence A ppearing R eal. At first I was not really sure if I could believe this or make sense out of it, but an experience changed my mind.  One fine Sunday morning during the sermon, my pastor said that most people are afraid of things that are afraid of them. I believe my pastor is inspired of God and knows what she is saying, but I kept asking myself, how could this be true. After thinking for some time I totally forgot about it. When I finally calmed down I heard a voice within me say, did you notice the rat was running away from you and not towards you? You are the rightful occupant of the house and the rat knows it is an intruder. That is why it was running away and that got me thinking some more.  I am physically, psychologically & in...

TAKE THE CHALLENGE - Dare to believe Him

One day, Cathy’s father brought a goat home. The goat was meant to be used for food, but spent a couple of days in their home before the butcher came for it. However, the few days the goat stayed Cathy loved coming outdoors to feed it. One Saturday she came out and discovered that the goat was no longer there. This made her sad. In a bid to comfort her, her daddy took her aside and had a chat with her. Later in the day Cathy’s mum saw her having a meal and asked her “why are you now eating”? She had declared earlier she would not eat anymore - and her answer was simple and straight “My father said he will buy me another goat” My friend & I know that it was really unlikely they will buy a goat for pet, but that was besides the point. Her simple statement really got me thinking. When will I sta...
